A large eagle circled the sky,
Over the snow-bitten ground.
Its sharp eyes glinted in the weak sun,
As it scanned for an animal.
Suddenly, the eagle changed direction,
In an instant diving 60 feet.
Its eyes were focused entirely on a rabbit,
Perched on a frostbitten log.
The rabbit barely had the time to look up,
When the eagle’s talons got hold of it.
The eagle rose up and headed for its home,
To the eager miniscule mouths of its family,
Waiting in the nest.
