“Forgotten” by Jeffrey Zhang

But through the twisting curving paths of my mind,

thoughts are lost

lost

lost

in the alcoves hidden throughout

Unseen by the masses

Forgotten

I went to say hello to my friend.

Back turned.

Slowly, she turned her head.

In her eyes, I see, wide, dull

Forlorn eyes, empty of feeling

She opens her mouth, seeming to say something

But doesn’t, and closes her mouth again.

Forgotten
