Clouds were skating the skies,
As the sunshine bathed the scene.
The cold was ebbing away,
As spring began to warm the air.

Trees bore the signs,
Of the new life growing to be leaves.
Flowers were cautiously opening their petals,
To see how warm the sunshine was.

Spring was just around the corner,
Waiting for its turn.
Winter reluctantly left its throne,
As the animals rejoiced,
At the sight of spring.
